Cole McDougall, O.D., FAAO
Ocular Disease Optometrist

Dr. Cole McDougall joined Georgia Eye Partners in 2024 as an Ocular Disease Resident Optometrist, where he completed his post-doctoral training. He now serves on staff, providing comprehensive, patient-centered care with a strong emphasis on ocular disease management and clinical excellence.
Originally from South Dakota, Dr. McDougall earned his Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from South Dakota State University. His interest in optometry developed through diverse clinical experiences, including his work as an ophthalmic technician at Vance Thompson Vision.
He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Pacific University College of Optometry, where he was actively involved in leadership and advocacy through the American Optometric Student Association (AOSA) and other professional initiatives. He further developed his clinical expertise through training at leading ocular disease centers, including ICON Eyecare in Denver, Omni Eye Services in Atlanta, and Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, gaining extensive experience in the management of complex ocular conditions.
Dr. McDougall has distinguished himself as an emerging leader in the profession. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO), reflecting his commitment to lifelong learning and clinical excellence. He was also selected to participate in the VSP Vision™ Future Leaders Academy, a competitive program designed to cultivate the next generation of leaders in optometry.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. McDougall enjoys maintaining an active lifestyle through strength training, hiking, and spending time outdoors. He also enjoys exploring new cuisines, traveling, and spending time with friends.
