Cynthia M. Guerin, M.D., is a board-eligible ophthalmologist specializing in the surgical and medical treatments of glaucoma and cataracts.
Dr. Guerin completed her undergraduate education at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech), earning dual bachelor’s degrees in biological sciences and psychology with a minor in chemistry, and graduating with honors summa cum laude. She earned her medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine, graduating with distinction in medical law and ethics. She completed her internship and ophthalmology residency at Texas Tech University, where she served as Chief Resident in her final year. She is currently the glaucoma fellow at Cincinnati Eye Institute, where she is completing her surgical and clinical training to be an AUPO-certified glaucoma specialist.
Dr. Guerin is actively involved in advocacy through the American Academy of Ophthalmology (and previously the Texas Ophthalmological Association), working to advance patient safety, access to care and physician training. Her research portfolio includes numerous peer-reviewed publications and national presentations focused on glaucoma, pediatric ophthalmology, retinal disease and complex ocular pathology.
Dr. Guerin is passionate about delivering thoughtful, individualized care grounded in evidence-based medicine and clear patient communication. She values building long-term relationships with her patients and ensuring they feel informed, supported and confident in their treatment decisions.
Outside of medicine, she enjoys indoor soccer, painting, baking and spending time with family and friends.
