Ocular Disease Resident

Dr. Soo Jung Lee is originally from Seoul, South Korea. She attended Georgia Institute of Technology and Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia., where she eventually found her interest in optometry. She would go onto graduate as class valedictorian from Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, where she would receive her Bachelor of Science in Vision Sciences and Doctor of Optometry Degree.

While at Illinois College of Optometry, Dr. Lee was part of the executive board for the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society, Tomb and Key Honor Society, American Optometric Student Association, Cornea and Contact Lens Society. She also was a founding member of ‘All Bonding Through Life and Eyes’, a student run mental health organization at ICO. She also participated in many volunteer efforts as part of the Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity, which included an eyecare mission trip to St. Lucia.

During the past year, she rotated through Werner Optometry with a focus on primary care optometry, at the Illinois Eye Institute in Chicago in various specialties including cornea/contact lens, pediatrics, vision therapy, neuro-ophthalmology and glaucoma, and at the Villages VA outpatient clinic to service the country’s veterans. One of her externship experiences was at Georgia Eye Partners, which inspired her to pursue a residency in ocular disease and specialty contact lens.

Dr. Lee is grateful and excited to be back at Georgia Eye Partners and is looking forward to providing excellent eyecare to all her patients.
