Dr. Sharnelle Kamibayashi is an optometry resident at Georgia Eye Partners. She has an identical twin sister, Shantelle who is also an optometry resident here. She grew up in Aiea, Hawaii. Inspired by her father, who has been legally blind from a young age, Dr. Kamibayashi is passionate about vision and sees nothing more fitting than serving others through eye care.
Dr. Kamibayashi completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Neuroscience at the University of Portland. She then went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry degree from Pacific University College of Optometry. She graduated with distinction and was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society each year of optometry school. Dr. Kamibayashi is also a proud member of the American Optometric Association and the American Academy of Optometry.
Dr. Kamibayashi completed clinical rotations at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, Florida, ICON Lasik in Denver, Colorado, VA Central California Health Care System in Fresno, California, and Davis Eye Care in Oak Lawn, Illinois. Her diverse and enriching clinical rotations has given her the opportunity to serve many different patient populations and gain experience in a wide array of ocular specialties including primary eye care, refractive and ocular surgeries, diagnosis and management of ocular disease, and specialty contact lens.
Dr. Kamibayashi loves traveling, family-time, dogs, and dancing. She danced for the NBA Portland Trail Blazers before starting optometry school.
