Shreya Patel, O.D.

Dr. Shreya Patel is a board certified optometrist who is well trained in comprehensive optometric care. She also specializes in the co-management of patients before and after surgical procedures. Her background includes extensive experience with LASIK and cataract procedures. Dr. Patel also provides care for patients with ocular diseases including macular degeneration, glaucoma, cataracts, uveitis, diabetic retinopathy, and multiple corneal conditions. She also provides complete ocular health examinations as well as contact lens fittings. Dr. Patel routinely fits soft and rigid gas permeable lenses, multifocal contact lenses, and specialty lenses for keratoconic and transplant patients.

Dr. Patel attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham for her undergraduate degree, earning a B.S. degree in Biology. She graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry in 2007. She trained as an intern, completing rotations at the Birmingham Veterans Administration Medical Center, the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind, and various nursing homes and health clinics in the Birmingham community. Dr. Patel also completed a residency program at the University of Houston, School of Optometry, focusing on primary care and ocular disease.   Throughout her education, Dr. Patel has worked in all areas of care including treatment and management of ocular disease, primary care, low vision, pediatrics, and contact lens.    

Dr. Patel provides comprehensive optometric care for routine patients as well as the co-management of Dr. Gabianelli and Dr. Feinberg's surgical patients. She offers a commitment to providing the highest quality patient service and satisfaction.
