2012 Night of Spectacles
Night of Spectacles began as a way for the Lighthouse Foundation to meet its growing funding needs while engaging the local community. Optometrists and ophthalmologists model fashion design incorporating recycled eyewear from our eyeglass recycling program.
In 2011, over 400 attendees packed the event at Mason Murer Art Gallery. Grossing over $156,000 for Georgia’s uninsured, Night of Spectacles wowed guests with a juried runway show, silent auction, and celebrity doctor models from the Lighthouse’s partner medical providers.
The event has raised over $350,000 for uninsured Georgians in the last four years, enough to provide nearly 300 surgeries or 14,000 pairs of eyeglasses.
We are very excited that Georgia Eye Partners will be hosting the event this year, and that our very own Dr Eugene Gabianelli is chairman. Also we are in a new venue, the Buckhead Theater, to help accommodate the huge amount of people who now attend this event annually. 2012 Night of Spectacles will take place on April 28, 2012.
