Botox & Dysport

These agents work by relaxing the muscles and the skin around the eyes, mouth and forehead for a smoother facial appearance.  This is an office-based procedure and recovery from the injections is virtually immediate.  Long-term studies have shown these agens to be extremely safe and highly effective.  Due to the excellent results, injecting Botox or Dysport to treat facial wrinkles is one of the most popular office-based procedures performed to date.  Mild bruising is possible, however avoiding ibuprofen-type products, aspirin and other blood-thinning agents, can minimize this risk.  Treatment typically takes 3-5 days to take effect and lasts for approximately 3 or 4 months.

Facial Fillers (e.g. Juvederm, Restylane, Perlane)

As tissues age, fat cells and collagen are lost.  Fillers are products that serve to fill a defect in the skin or to soften wrinkles and normal facial folds, such as those next to the nose and mouth, around the lips and under the eyes.  Adding volume to these areas results in a smoother and more youthful appearance.  Fillers can also be used to reduce scars from acne or trauma.  Additionally, they are ofetn used to augment the lips to give a fuller, more lush appearance.  These products are typically administered under topical anesthesia or with anesthetic blocks.  Patients may experience some mild swelling and redness in the areas of injection.  Make-up may be applies shortly after, and patietns con resume their normal activities immediately.  Depending on the area injected, fillers last between six months to one year.

Latisse

This product works to make eyeslashes longer, darker and fuller.  Its effects can be seen as early as 8 weeks after beginning treatment.

Many of these non-surgical procedures are not always sufficient for severe surface wrinkles on the face, or for the multiple vertical lines around the lips.  Therefore, Dr. Price may suggest a combination of treatments including Botox or Dysport, fillers, laser procedures, and surgery.
